LIQUID MEMBRANES AND GRP, WHAT ARE THEY?
We’ve seen a growing demand for liquid roofing products in Sheffield over the years, and here at Perfect Seal Roofing Ltd we specialise in them all. We are certified installers of many liquid roofing products to suit different requirements and budgets. GRP is a Glass Reinforced Plastic, resin-based system that incorporates fibreglass matting to create a strong, durable finish. Most other liquid roofing systems are polyurethane resin-based, producing a flexible, elastic membrane that is ideal for roofs subject to movement and temperature changes. Both systems provide a seamless, highly durable, low-maintenance, fully waterproof solution, with a clean, modern appearance.
FELT ROOFING IS STILL A THING!
With so many changes in the roofing industry, felt roofing remains a reliable and widely used solution. At Perfect Seal Roofing Ltd we are certified installers of leading systems from Alumasc, Lancastria and Proteus. Reinforced Bituminous Membranes (RBM), more commonly known as felt roofing systems, continue to be a fantastic, traditional choice for flat and low-sloping roofs. Torch-on felt is applied using heat via a blowtorch, creating a strong bond and offering a longer lifespan. In contrast, self-adhesive felt provides a safer, peel-and-stick application, though it typically has a shorter lifespan due to a less robust bond. Both options offer effective waterproofing solutions, with the choice depending on the project requirements, budget, and installation method preferred.
We had our garage roof replaced by Perfect Seal Roofing. We are happy with all communication and the work done. Our old asbestos roof was replaced with a nice new fibreglass roof. It looks so much better and is watertight.
